Pause Countdowns
Pausing countdowns is key during exams. Exam Display allows for two types of pausing: individual countdowns and all countdowns.

- Pause individual countdowns: This is particularly useful for students who are allowed rest breaks.
- Pause all countdowns: This is useful for when the exam is paused for everyone, for example in case of a 🔥 fire or another 🚨 emergency.
Pause Individual Countdowns
Pausing individual countdowns is useful for students who are allowed rest breaks, and many other scenarios.
- To pause a countdown, click the icon.

- Paused countdowns have are easy to spot with their striped background.
ℹ️
There is no limit to how long a countdown can be paused for.
- To restart a paused countdown, click the icon.
- When a countdown is restarted, the striped background is removed, the countdown resumes and all of the other details are automatically recalculated (e.g. end time, 5 and 30 minute reminders).
Pause All Countdowns
Pausing all countdowns is useful for when the exam is paused for everyone, for example in case of a 🔥 fire or another 🚨 emergency.
- To pause all countdowns, click the Pause All button.
- Paused countdowns have are easy to spot with their striped background.
- To restart all paused countdowns, click the Restart All button.
When the countdowns resume, all details are automatically recalculated.
